Private lessons are available through my home studio in Greensboro and I work with students who are high school aged through semi-professional. Many of my former college students now hold positions performing, teaching, and working as music therapists and arts administrators throughout the country. Students from my high school studio have successfully auditioned into All-District and All-State bands and orchestras, and on a national level they have auditioned into festivals such as Tanglewood and the Eastern Music Festival, and for further study into Schools of Music throughout the United States. Additionally, students auditioned into the Greensboro Youth Symphony, the Carolina Band Festival, and have also won auditions into the National Flute Association High School Flute Choir competition performing at annual NFA Conventions.
Space is limited and students must be prepared to dedicate consistent time for practicing. Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute time slots and my tuition system is arranged into 14 lessons per semester.
Summer Festivals in Europe
In summers I am associated with festivals in Italy and Germany. There are opportunities to focus on chamber music or special topics. Pre-formed groups are encouraged, including flute ensembles! My students have particularly enjoyed performing works for flute and strings with players from all over the US and international students. This summer I will be teaching at the Clazz International Music Festival in July (Arcidosso, Italy) email me for more information.
Summer Study in NC
Summer lessons are available in June and August for advanced students with a project in mind - these may be to study contemporary works or to focus on a specific area of your playing, GAP year flute studies, preparing for graduate school auditions, or taking professional auditions.
